Being a man, and thus not having a vagina myself, I can’t make any length comparisons in the way that the ladies can.
However, I can confirm that the ass can accept much longer objects than most people would imagine. It may take years of training and practice, but “anal depth trainer” [a good search term for products] probes and the like can easily achieve 24-28 inches in somebody of my fairly ordinary male build.
The limitations are more related to diameter of the object than the length of the object. In my experience, there has been success with…
1.0 inch diameter, up to about 28 inches in length (but still training with positive results) 
1.5 inch diameter, up to about 24 inches in length.
2.0 inch diameter, up to about 22 inches in length.
2.5 inch diameter, up to about 18 inches in length. More length might be possible, but the darn toy has “balls” that get in the way. This diameter and length is my go-to, get-warmed-up solo toy.
