From what I remember, Don Henley is the only original member left. Joe Walsh and Timothy B Schmitt are still going despite posts everywhere that Schmitt is dead. They also have Deacon Frey and Vince Gill as band members plus quite a few touring maestros!
You’re exactly right. Tim Schmit was successfully treated for throat cancer years ago. I’ve never seen the Eagles, but I’ve seen Joe Walsh when he was with the James Gang and then solo ten years ago. Even though Henley is the only one left, I’d like to see them. They’re playing at the Sphere in Las Vegas this fall. Maybe a bucket list show for me and Mrs Colt. The great bands from my era are quickly disappearing. Mortality is a bitch.
New Sleep Token album arrived today. Special kind of music. Here is a song from the album wich seems odd time signature, but in fact the song is 4/4. The drummer is very taleted and plays the accents on the snare in weird places. Making the song sound very complicated.
We may do that. I saw Walsh twice with The James Gang in the 70’s. The second show, Walsh was so wasted he did like three songs and had to end the show. I was disappointed, but just a little less wasted than he was so still had a good night.
Your classic rock acumen is impressive! I’m stuck in that era, with the exception of alternative rock that came a bit later.
One of my favorite guitarists, Tommy Bolin, was part of The James Gang. The cut below is from his solo album released just months before he died of an overdose. Typical, extended tune from the 70’s but one of my favorite songs. It must be played loud.
